The page partly serves to remind me of future trips I'd like to do, and
partly to keep track of planning and research notes as those trips start
to take shape.

- if the lake isn't frozen, you have to go around it, and cross a pass to the north at 5300m
- side trip to Mustang
- around Dhaulagiri
Around Manaslu
- Drive to Gorkha, and start from there. It's about 10 days to the Manaslu base camp, and subsequently crosses the Larkya La, a 5135m pass. The route requires permits, which can generally only be obtained from a trekking company supplying porters, tents, food, etc. Barring officialdom, it seems reasonably straightforward to do without all this, with only a 3 day stretch between villages while crossing the Larkya La, perhaps less.
- a long and detailed trip report

- Khanchock
- Arughat (there's a police station here, which checks permits)
- Yari Khola
- Phidim, Deng
- Namru
- Sela
- Samagaon
- base camp
- Crossing the Larkya La would run something like Samdo (3900m) --- 3-4 hrs ---> Larkya Phedi (4400m, uninhabited) --- 5 hrs ---> Larkya La (5135m) --- 3-4 hrs ---> Bimdakothi (3800m) and Bimtang (inhabited?)
