Before 7am on Weekends
Bette's Ocean View Diner
1807 4th St. @ Hearst, (510) 644-3230, open at 6:30 every day, haven't been there but heard it's good. -DL
Boogie Woogie Bagel Boy
Open at 6 or 6:30. Gilman St near where BART crosses over, near Berkeley Organic Market. Good bagels, great sandwiches, wide beverage selection. Recommended by Michelle Minikel.
Open at 7-7:30am
Bagel Bugle Boy
(is this the same place as BWBB above?). Open at 7 or earlier. Gilman St. Recommended by Ann Dentel.
Noah's Bagels
Open at 7am. College and Alcatraz. Decent bagels, they make sandwiches. Recommended by Val Zimmer.
Peet's
The Claremont store (510) 843-1434 is open at 6am M-F, 7am weekends, the 4th St shop (510) 525-3207 opens at 6am Mon-Sat, 7am Sun.
Uncertain hours
Jimmy Bean's
6th and Gilman, (510) 528-3435 menu and hours are listed on web page, as 6am weekdays, 8am weekends, but there is a note about "extended hours" 7am-9pm, I'd call first. Coffee, breakfast and lunch items are all good -DL
